Amritpal Singh -The Separatist Leader Arrested

Controversial Amritpal Singh arrested, a supporter of Khalistan, was detained by the Punjab Police following a dramatic high-speed chase involving over 100 police vehicles through the village of Jallupur Khera.
The Punjab Home Secretary had said that internet access in the state would be suspended until tomorrow following the incident. In the Punjabi district of Moga, there were numerous police officers on duty. Moreover, security was stepped up around Singh’s home in the Jullupur Khera village close to Amritsar.

The Punjab Police meanwhile urged people to uphold harmony and peace. “ ask all people to uphold harmony and peace in the community To keep things in order, the Punjab Police is working. Asking people not to panic or propagate rumours of hate or false information.

What was the case? Why Amritpal Singh arrested?

When Amritpal Singh arrived in Punjab from Dubai last year and began giving lectures about bringing the youth back to “real Sikhi” and providing them with shastra vidya, discontent with him and his activities has been slowly building (knowledge of weapons). The 29-year-old replicates the mannerisms and clothing of the murdered Khalistani militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

AJNALA Police Station Incident

The Ajnala police station near Amritsar was besieged on February 24 by an armed crowd led by the radical Sikh preacher after they engaged in combat with police. One of their colleagues who had been detained in connection with an alleged kidnapping case was to be released, they urged.
Later, police officers explained that the reason they couldn’t manage the mob was that they were using a physical replica of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, also known as Bir in Punjabi, as a shield.

Following 12 days of brutal fighting, Punjab Police decided to revoke nine of Amritpal Singh’s guards’ permits to possess weapons. The cops also requested information about his security personnel.
