Swati Maliwal (DCW) was sexually assaulted by her father

Swati Maliwal, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), said on Saturday, March 11 that her father had molested her as a youngster when she was in class 4th. After the DCW International Women’s Day Awards ceremony in Delhi, she was talking to reporters.

“When I was a child, my father sexually molested me. I used to hide under the bed when dad was beating me up. As a little girl, I used to think about how I might help women obtain the justice they deserve and how I could show such abusive guys a lesson.

Maliwal spoke during the award ceremony and shared the story of her life’s struggle, including how she overcame her father’s abuse of sexual and domestic violence as a youngster.

“I can still recall. He (Maliwal’s father) would grab me by my hair and slam my head against the wall when he came to beat me, leaving me with major wounds and bleeding. There was a great deal of suffering, the DCW chief added. (Source the quint)
