Emphasising the side effects of tobacco, the Standing Committee has proposed a ban on the sale and production of all single cigarettes.

The sale of loose cigarettes could soon be outlawed by the government. According to numerous reports, the Standing Committee of Parliament has recommended a restriction on the sale of single cigarettes to reduce the consumption of tobacco products. The selling of loose cigarettes, according to the Standing Committee of Parliament, is having an impact on the fight against tobacco use. The group also advocated for the elimination of smoking area in all domestic airports.

If the government acts on the recommendations of the Standing Committee, Parliament may soon ban the sale and manufacture of single cigarettes.

The Government had banned the sale and usage of e-cigarettes at the recommendation of the Health Ministry three years ago.
