Bahadurgarh Fort

Nawab Saif Khan in the year 1658 found the Bahadurgarh Fort about 6 km from the Patiala During the reign of Aurangzeb. In the year 1837, Maharaja Karam Singh from Patiala renovated this fort. The fort was named after Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru.

Bahadurgarh Fort is built in an area of about 21 sq kilometers in a circular shape surrounded by two ramparts and a moat.

Nawab Saif Khan was a great admirer of the holy Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh, and he would bring him here every monsoon season. Outside of the road and inside the fort, there were two gurudwaras that marked his presence. Panj Bali Gurdwara is a well-known Gurudwara.

Nawab Saif Khan was buried in this fort after his death and there was a tomb built in his memory. This tomb was lit by the lamps every Thursday by his followers.
