Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey (25) committed suicide by hanging herself late on Sunday night in room number 105 of Hotel Sumendra located in Buddha City Colony, Sarnath. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. At the same time, the forensic team is busy collecting evidence by examining the room.
“The prima facie report suggests it might be a case of suicide. But we have to wait for the post-mortem report to be sure of the cause of the death,” a senior police officer said.
Akanksha Dubey was originally a resident of Parsipur, Thana-Chori, District- Bhadohi. Currently lived in Basai, Palghar, Nalasopara East Mumbai (Maharashtra). She reached room number 205 of Sumendra Hotel, Buddha City Colony at 3.15 am on March 23 for the shooting of the film Laayak. He was accompanied by make-up artist Rahul Sharma, hairdresser Rekha Maurya and boy Sanjay Yadav.

Akanksha had recently completed the shooting of the film ‘Mitti’. The film is directed by Chandan Upadhyay and produced by Arvind Prasad and Prem Shankar. The film also stars Raksha Gupta in an important role.
